Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program

Applications are invited from the students belong to developing countries for the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship program 2015. Applicants should hold a bachelors's degree earned before 2012 and should have at least 3 years of development related experience since earning a Bachelors degree.

Scholarships are available for pursuing a Masters Degree.

Eligibility


  • Applicants should belong to a developing country with a single citizenship 
  • Should hold a Bachelors Degree earned before 2012.
  • Should have at least 3 years of development-related experience
  • Must returned to your home country after graduation
  • Those receiving a scholarship are barred from working at the World Bank Group for three years following graduation from the preferred masters program.
  • Must be a national of World Bank member country country eligible to borrow.
  • Must be in good health, as certified by a medical doctor, with respect to the capacity to be a productive scholar for the duration of the masters program.

How to apply

There are two ways for citizens of developing countries to apply for the scholarship
  1. For a scholarship to a partner scholarship program, you should apply to at least one of the partner university program.The university will send the JJ/WBGSP Secretariat a short list of eligible candidates that have been accepted by the partner program, and the JJ/WBGSP Steering Committee will award scholarships to a subset.
  2. For scholarship to a preferred masters programs, you need to apply to the university to get accepted into the program and also apply directly to JJ/WBGSP for the scholarship.

Selection Criteria


JJ/WBGSP uses the following process to review completed applications, with the aim to identify the candidates with the highest potential after completion of their graduate study to impact the development of their country through the public and private sector delivery of public goods and services.
Two qualified assessors independently review each eligible application and score the application on a scale 1 to 10, taking into account four main factors and the degree of cohesion among them:
  1. Quality of Professional Experience(30% weight)
  2. Quality of Professional Recommendations(30% weight)
  3. Quality of Commitment to your Home Country(30% weight)
  4. Quality of Education background(10% weight)

Benefits

The scholarship is fully funded by the Government of Japan, and provides for the recipient only the following benefits:
  • Economy class air travel between your home country and the host university at the start if your study program and immediately following the end of the scholarship period. In addition to the two-way air travel, you will receive a US $500 travel allowance for each trip
  • tuition for your graduate program and the cost of basic medical insurance usually obtained through the university. please note that all our partner and preferred masters programs are 2 years or less and the scholarship covers the duration of the program
  • a monthly subsistence allowance to cover living expenses, including books, while you are studying at the preferred masters program. The amount of the allowance varies depending on the host country.

The JJ/WBGSP scholarship does not cover:

  • expenses for the scholar's family;
  • extra-curricular courses or traning;
  • language training that is not provided by the graduate program;
  • additional travel during the course of the study program;
  • expenses related to research, supplementary educational materials, field trips, participation in workshops/seminars, or internships;
  • educational equipment such as computers.

Note: The JJ?WBGSP scholarship may only supplement, and does not duplicate, any other source of financial support/fellowship you might have. If selected as a finalist or if you are awarded a scholarshop, you must inform the JJ/WBGSP if you have other sources of scholarship funds. The JJ/WBGSP stipend may be withdrawn completely or partially if during the scholarship period the Program has evidence of additional sources of support.

Undergraduate International Merit Scholarship 2015


In Addition to the scholarships listed above the University of Sheffield also offers scholarships for students starting any undergraduate course at the University of Sheffield in September 2015.

Award Amount

Each scholarship is worth 50% of the Undergraduate annual tuition fee. This is a guaranteed in the first year of study and is available  in each subsequent year, excluding any years in the industry or years abroad, subject to achieving 60% or above in the previous academic year. this applies to all undergraduate programmes except Medicine and Density. Students of Medicine and Density will only receive the scholarship for the non-clinical years.
The 50% tuition fee reduction will be deducted from the original fee before any other scholarships, discounts and rewards have been applied.

Selection Criteria


The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the supporting statement. The final decision will be made by the academic panel. If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply online.

KODAK Student Scholarship Program for International Students 2015

KODAK is offering a student Cinematography Award, in addition to a student scholarship. Each award will include a cash tuition prize along with KODAK Film Product grants to assist recipients with future projects. Participating worldwide colleges and universities that offer a degree or diploma program in film, film production, or cinematography may nominate up to two students each year for consideration for the KODAK Student Scholarship Award and one cinematography student each year for consideration for the KODAK Student Cinematography Scholarship Award. The cinematography student nominee may also be nominated for the KODAK Student Scholarship Award.

Student Scholarship applicants will be judged on professional film making potential, academic and the overall quality of the work submitted, with particular attention to expression, interpretation and construction of the visual image.

Full Bright Scholarship for Pakistani Students 2016

The Fulbright Masters and PhD program graduate study in the United States for a Master's or PhF degree. Funded by the United States Agency for International Development(USAID), these grants cover tuition, required textbooks, airfare, a living stipend, and health insurance. USEFP also assists with the visa process.

For the Masters degree program, eligible candidates will have either a four-year Bachelor's degree or a Bachelor's and Master's combination totaling 16 years of formal education from an accredited university. Recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply, except for MBA applicants, who require 3 years of work experience.

For the PhD degree program, eligible applicants will have a Master's, M. Phil or comparable degree(a minimum of 18 years of formal education) from an accredited university. It is highly desirable that candidates have work experience in teaching, research, or the public sector in Pakistan.

For both the Masters and PhD programs, all academic disciplines are eligible, except clinical medicine or PhD in Business Administration. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for all applicants. Under the new scoring system, minimum score of 138 in the verbal and 136 in the quantative sections are required. Applicants must also possess a high level of fluency in spoken and written English. Short-listed applicants will be required to bring proof of TOEFL registration with them to the interview.

All successful candidates are required to sign a contract with USEFP and for successful PhD candidates a bond with the HEC that binds them to return to Pakistan immediately after their program in the U.S and serve the country for the number of years equivalent to the length of their scholarship program. This contract is redeemable on a year-for-year basis minimum of two years; as long as a person fulfills the service requirement he or she will pay nothing.

Cycle

Applications are accepted each year in February and the deadline to submit application is around May. The application review and interview process continues until September and the results are announced in mid-October. After selection, the university submission and placement process continues until February and visa interviews take place until June. The departure to the U.S commences in July and onwards depending on the universities reporting dates.

Eligibility Criteria


Pakistani citizens, reading and working in Pakistan, with strong academic histories in all disciplines except clinical medicine are welcome to apply.

In addition to academic work, persons selected for Fulbright programs are expected to share information about Pakistani life and culture with their U.S colleagues and with community groups in the U.S. On returning to Pakistan, Fulbright grantees are expected to share their U.S experience with colleagues and community groups in Pakistan. Successful candidates should be poised to assume leadership positions in their fields and must be committed to returning and serving Pakistan.

Ineligibility 



  • Persons with a dual U.S/Pakistan nationality or those having a spouse, parent, fiance or child over 18 years of age who is a U.S citizen or permanent resident.
  • Employees of the Fulbright organization or the U.S Department of State and their spouses, fiances, siblings, dependents, children and parents. For program funded by their agencies, employees of USAID or the HEC and their spouses, fiances, siblings, dependents, children and parents.
  • People who have a pending application for immigration to any country.
  • As a general matter, preference for Fulbright student opportunities will be given to candidates who have not previously received a Fulbright student grant.
  • Persons already studying in the U.S or on a work/residence visa in any country.

A complete application package includes application form, three reference letters, GRE score report and attach photocopies of transcript including an explanation of grading scale of university issuing the degree. Most recent transcript must be attested by Higher Education Commission(HEC). Incomplete appilcation are not considered.
